FAQ

Interpreter Jobs FAQ

Is NihonVegas hiring Japanese interpreters in Las Vegas?

Yes. NihonVegas is building a roster of Japanese–English interpreters for Las Vegas trade shows and conferences such as CES, SEMA, NAB and G2E. Interpreters are booked per show and per day to support Japanese companies exhibiting or doing business in Las Vegas. Apply with the form on this page.

Are these full-time jobs or contract work?

Contract work. Interpreters are engaged as independent contractors (1099), booked for specific shows and days. There is no minimum commitment: you tell us when you are available, and we offer you bookings that fit.

What kind of interpreting will I do?

Mostly on-site work at Las Vegas trade shows: booth interpreting with visitors and buyers, consecutive interpreting in business and executive meetings, and escort interpreting for visiting Japanese teams. Some roster members also take remote work such as remote simultaneous interpretation (RSI) and business document translation. We do not take legal or medical assignments.

Do I need to live in Las Vegas?

Las Vegas locals are preferred, because show bookings often come with short notice and long days on site. Interpreters who travel in for shows from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Japan or elsewhere are welcome too — tell us where you are based and which shows you could attend.

What qualifications do you look for?

Native or near-native Japanese, business-level English, and professional experience in trade-show, corporate or business settings. Formal interpreting certification is welcome but not required; we assess skills in a short call. Industry knowledge (automotive, consumer electronics, broadcast, gaming and so on) is a plus.

How much does it pay?

We pay competitive day rates. Rates depend on the assignment and your experience, and are discussed with you directly during onboarding and confirmed for each booking.

How do I apply?

Fill in the application form on this page. A resume (PDF or Word) or a LinkedIn link helps but is optional. We review every application and contact suitable interpreters for a short call and skills check, then add them to our roster for upcoming shows.
